"Desolation of Babylon", a superb high quality antique engraving showing 5 scenes of ruins of Babylon, "Site of the ruins...", "Ruins of the Kasr or lesser palace", "Birs Nimroud from the East", "The Mujelibe from the South, Supposed to be the remains of the palace of Babylon", "Birs Nimroud from the Northwest". Print on nice thick paper. Reverse side blank. This fine engraving has a popping 3D effect and is a fine piece for framing. A few light spots of foxing.

This is a very fine piece with crisp sharp lines and tones which are impossible to represent quality-wise with digital pictures.

Engraved by JH Kernot after drawings by H Warren and JB Fraser. Sheet size approx. 11.5" x 8.5". Printed circa 1840, Blackie & Son, London.
